Title Sequence animated by Kris Cave
VICE News hosted the 2020 Brown & Black Democratic Presidential Forum in Iowa on MLK day, where Democratic candidates, Michael Bennet, Joe Biden, Pete Buttigieg, John Delaney, Amy Klobuchar, Bernie Sanders, Elizabeth Warren and Andrew Yang, were invited to discuss their positions on issues affecting communities of color.
Working with designs and art direction from Ana Simoes, I had the pleasure of animating the entire title sequence as well as cutout assets for the rest of the event. It was a fun challenge to try to capture the personality of each candidate through their motions. In 2021, we were awarded a News & Documentary Emmy Award for ‘Outstanding Graphic Design and Art Direction’.
